We had a great time at VBS the other week.  The theme was Big Apple Adventure and it was all about New York City.  I taught VBX (5th & 6th graders) and had a great time!  Each day the children brought items to go into Operation Christmas Child boxes, such as washcloths, bars of soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, etc.  If they met their daily goal of items, Mr. Michael (our children's minister) would dress silly.  On Friday, his payment for the children making their goal was to get a pie in his face.  I was asked to participate!  FUN!  He didn't get me back, at least, he hasn't yet!

Memorial Day 2011

I know!  This is really late but this summer has been crazy busy!

We went to the lake to spend Memorial Day weekend with our friends the Lands.  The girls were leaving to go to Disney with Mom & Dad for the week so it worked out for us to be there.  They left early Saturday morning!

The boy loves riding his scooter!

We spent the weekend on the lake, swimming and riding the jet ski.  It was a very relaxing weekend!  All the boys enjoyed playing together!  Caleb did amazingly well swimming on his own in the lake.  He really took to it this year, jumping in off the boat, etc.  What a big boy!

Carah Turns 10!!!

She's 10!
My baby girl is 10.  She is one decade old!  She's in the double digits!  Carah was so excited to turn 10 due to all these reasons!  We woke her up on her birthday (the 8th) with the traditional singing of Happy birthday and she requested homemade waffles for her birthday breakfast.  We went to VBS that day and she went swimming with friends that afternoon.

Since her birthday always falls during VBS so we have to work around that with her party.  She had a few friends spend the night Friday night and her party was supposed to be a pancake party at 10 the next morning.  However, her softball tournament was that same weekend!  Her team ended up having a game Saturday morning so we had to push her party til 5 that evening!  Most people still wore their pajamas and we still had pancakes, etc.

Carah's Softball

Carah played softball for the first time this spring.  She loved it!!!  Her team was called Thunderstruck.  She was on the same team as some of her friends and she made more friends over the season.  Her team finished 2nd in their age group and were the last team from Pleasant View in the tournament this past weekend!  She can hardly wait to play in the fall!!
